"When you want to teach children to think, you begin by treating them seriously when they are little, giving them responsibilities, talking to them candidly, providing privacy and solitude for them, and making them readers and thinkers of significant thoughts from the beginning." With these thoughts in mind SCIT ISR team started an initiative ISR TEACH 1.0 in 2018. It is a continuous teaching programme for the children of non-teaching residential staff of SCIT. This activity is being conducted 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on weekdays (Monday – Friday) in the SCIT campus.
ISR TEACH 2.0 with its fresh and enthusiatic team, continues to impart education through its weekly teaching program in 2019. Kids have shown some awesome response and the programme has proven to impact positively on their academics and other fun activities. Apart from teaching, ISR TEACH also celebrates occassions such as Children`s Day, to inculcate fun and cherish the innocence within kids.
Continuing the legacy of the ISR Teach program in which we teach all the subjects to the school-going children of non-teaching staff of SCIT campus, ISR Teach following its established concept of "Education is for all" stepped one step ahead and switched to online mode during the pandemic. The team members facilitated the interested students and made the teaching experience easy by utilizing various online platforms at their disposal and helping the students understand the concepts of their academic curriculum.
A Story Telling activity was conducted under the weekend activity initiative. The purpose of the activity was to interreact with students, help them improve in communication and presenting skills along with giving a moral education lesson.
The activity was conducted on 24th October,2021. The students were asked to share few short stories and what moral lesson they learn from the stories.
Students participated with full vigour and enthusiasm and shared few short stories. The medium was English as well as Hindi to help students gain confidence in public speaking. Afterwards two short stories were played for students and then later on discussed in order to understand how much they learned from the stories.
The purpose of this activity was to have a fun session with the children along with some crucial
teachings in between. The movie chosen was ‘KUNG FU PANDA’ which is an animated movie. This is an
amusing movie which is an absolute delight to watch. The movie has some key teachings which were
communicated to children at the end of the movie.
In addition to the movie a chess session was organized. Some children who knew how to play chess
participated in some of the matches that were conducted while others who were newly introduced to
the game were taught some basic moves and were tested to apply these moves after some practice.

committee members for two hours in supervision of senior ISR committee members.
The idea of weekend Activity is conducted by ISR teach member to expose talent of students,
competitions are helpful in inspiring young artists and helping them to improve their creative abilities.
On 20th November we have conducted Drawing competition with the children, who are the students of ISR teach faculty.
Our team with 8 Junior member and 2 senior member were present during the Activity.
The theme of Drawing competition was Climate change. Understanding this phenomenon enables young people to confront the effects of global warming, motivates them to alter their behaviour, and aids in their ability to adapt to what is already a serious problem on a worldwide scale.
Storytelling is a universal and traditional art form that has featured strongly in our culture as an effective communication tool. It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often
used as a medium to ingrain values, improving reading skills and opening the minds of children
to worlds beyond imagination. A weekend activity - story-telling was organized for ISR teach
Students on 8th October 2022. The session was indeed valuable and distinct. We gave them a
glimpse of a picture and the students have to relate it to a story(any story they can make
according to their understanding). It will help to spark students' imagination and communication
skills. Children found it really interesting.
